Album Cover: Ella in London

If it ain't broken, don't fix it!

With the mini-feature in this week's program on live performances from the world-renowned Ronnie Scott's club in London, here's the original Ella in London LP cover (released in 1974). Very much of its time. Underneath is the revamped and somehow more-dated version from a subsequent CD issue.

For my money, I'll stick with the original.

Album Cover: The Boss of the Blues - Joe Turner Sings Kansas City Jazz

In the absence of a new show at the weekend (due to a 5-hour big band themed special on UK Jazz Radio) here's a couple of great covers relating to tracks from the previous show. The Big Joe Turner one on Atlantic Records, and the stark but stylish June Christy and Stan Kenton album, Duet. Note the prominence of both record companies logos!
